How do I know when my business needs a 3PL provider?

Honestly 3PL just means you're handing off the annoying parts of shipping — warehousing, packing, labeling, getting stuff out the door — to someone else instead of doing it all yourself. Most small brands start doing fulfillment in-house (garage, spare room, whatever) until order volume gets messy, then they look for a fulfillment partner to take over storage and shipping so they're not drowning in boxes every day. Biggest thing to check before picking one is how transparent their pricing is — some places nickel and dime you on storage fees that aren't obvious upfront.
