Hi everyone!I wanted to share an exciting educational game that we've recently used in our science + water education sessions: Space Waves.🛰️ What is it?Space Waves is an interactive, science-based game designed to help students understand how waves (especially electromagnetic waves) travel through space – and how this relates to the transmission of information, such as satellite data, Earth observation, and even clean water monitoring!🌍 Why it's relevant to water education:While the theme may seem focused on space, Space Waves actually helps students grasp the importance of satellite technologies that monitor Earth's surface – including weather patterns, ocean currents, and freshwater systems. It’s a great way to bridge physics, technology, and water science in a fun and engaging way.🎮 Game Features:
- Teaches key concepts like wave types, frequencies, and interference
- Encourages problem-solving and systems thinking
- Can be used as a classroom warm-up or full lesson extension
👩🏫 How we used it:We paired Space Waves with a lesson on satellite imagery in water resource management. Students were surprised to learn how scientists use wave-based data to track floods, droughts, and water quality from orbit. If you're looking for something fresh and interactive to supplement your water education toolkit, give it a try!Let me know if you’d like a short guide or lesson plan we created alongside the game 😊
