Virasana is a traditional seated yoga posture commonly known as the Hero Pose. The word Virasana comes from two Sanskrit words: “Vira”, meaning hero or warrior, and “Asana”, meaning posture. This grounding pose is widely practiced in yoga because of its calming effects on the mind and body. Though it may look simple, virasana offers numerous physical and mental benefits when performed correctly.Unlike many seated poses where practitioners cross their legs, virasana involves sitting between the feet while keeping the knees bent. This unique posture stretches the thighs, ankles, knees, and feet while encouraging proper spinal alignment. It is often practiced during meditation, pranayama, and restorative yoga sessions because of its stability and comfort
